The Minimoog synth is a small mono synth. This means that it can only play one note at a time - but what a note! The Minimoog is responsible for some of the most well known synth sounds in synth history.

There are no preset sounds on a Minimoog, the player has to make a sound by moving the controls on the front panel - this can be done while playing which makes for very expressive music.

Minimoogs are analogue synths - they produce sound without using microprocessors. Temperature changes and other factors like mains voltage shifts can make them go out of tune or just "Sound" different. This actually adds to the appeal of the Minimoog as it sometimes seems to have a mood of its own.
